The WVDSA has two bills being introduced today 2/2/12.

 

 HB4396 - Adding All Law Enforcement Officers to the Killed In The "Line Of Duty" Survivor Benefit Act. This will add all Law Enforcement Officers to the $50,000 survivor benefit for Line Of Duty Deaths. A few years ago Fire and EMS were given this benefit. The WVDSA simply believes that survivors of Law Enforcement Officers Killed In The Line Of Duty should also receive this benefit and therefore are submitting this bill. 

 

Also, HB4395 - This bill will provide for a One Time Supplement for Retired Deputy Sheriff's pensions of between 2% and 4% depending on the length of their retirement.

HB4395 is in the House Pension Committee and then will go to House Finance.

HB4396 is in the House Finance Committee.
